Save the Date!
The Spring Street Community Kitchen will be hosting one last event in 2023 and that will be a "cookie jar" making party followed by Christmas caroling at St. John's Anglican Church (Port Moody) on Saturday, December 9th at 3pm. MORE details to come about how you can contribute to this event. Cookie jars and proceeds will be donated to the SFU Campus Ministry which will host food pantries for students in the new year. We are going to need supplies and volunteers to help us before we open the doors to all who want to purchase jars and sing, so please save the date and help us make this event a success!

About this ministry

We began in 2019 with grand ideas and then boom! Covid happened. We pivoted and our ideas became a monthly Online cooking demonstration offered by the Spring Street Community Kitchen, a partnership between St. John’s Anglican Church and Inlet United Church and other community members. Sometimes we had special guest chefs from local restaurants and other times we stepped in and create magic in our own kitchens. It was always entertaining and informative! You can view our past "kitchens" on our Spring Street Community Kitchen YouTube channel found here and below:

Once it was safe to gather, we began to host some in-person events, and while people enjoyed these, we didn't get a clear sense of WHAT it was we wanted to be about. We do agree we want to continue to collaborate in some meaningful way, and exactly how is not clear at present.

Currently, our planning team is very tired! There are very few of us and so we are taking a pause after the December 2023 event and will revisit this ministry in the future. It might be that we morph into something new, but for now, we are happy to join one more time in person and will see where the Spirit takes us!
