Construction at The Springs continues at an encouraging rate. Our completion timeline remains at the end of 2021. Construction on the wooden parts of the building has commenced. This includes the residences, both on the Spring Street side, and facing St. Johns St. The City has completed cut-ins to the curb for passenger pick-up and drop-off on Spring Street. **New photos added to gallery below!**
The Transformation Steering Group is engaged in several meetings each month to work on a number of topics, mostly in collaboration with our partners in the project, Catalyst Community Development Society and Kinsight. Together we are making decisions about shared spaces, building security, communication, and use of one-another's spaces. We are very happy to be working with such generous and community-minded partners. We are also grateful to members of our Inlet United community for their assistance.
Detailed information about The Springs, including how to express interest in renting one of the apartments, can be found at rentthesprings.ca
Our redevelopment will include: A new church and community space, a space for service delivery for families of children who have or are at risk of having developmental delays or disabilities, and approximately 55 units of affordable rental housing.
Full details are available at www.springscommunity.ca. Details on the housing component are at www.rentthesprings.ca.
